What is Direct Care?

At The Eye Care Studio, we take pride in leading the Direct Care movement, aimed at enhancing healthcare by reconnecting doctors and patients. We work with all vision plans but are not contracted with them which allows us to provide our patients with the quality of care and products they truly deserve. Patients can still use their vision benefits while receiving the best standard of care and the highest quality products all at a reasonable cost.

Contracting with vision plans leads to inflated care prices, as healthcare providers receive only a small fraction of the reimbursement. To offset this, doctors often propose additional tests or products, (which are usually not covered by vision plans), resulting in higher out-of-pocket expenses for patients. Rather than conforming our eye care practices to suit vision plan restrictions, we prioritize essential care—what we believe is best for our patients' health and well-being. This approach ensures that savings are channeled directly to you, without compromising on quality.

When the intermediary is removed, so are the associated costs. By breaking down the barriers between doctor and patient, our sole focus becomes surpassing your expectations.

You're always invited, even if you don't have a vision plan. For those with vision plans, you can utilize your benefits but the process looks a little different. We will look up your benefits and submit the proper paperwork for you to receive reimbursement whenever possible. Embracing Direct Care, we maintain transparent pricing to ensure quality eye care is accessible and affordable for all.

More Time with Your Doctor

We allocate 45 minutes for every comprehensive eye exam, a significant contrast to the mere 9 minutes typically allotted to patients during their appointments with eye doctors. This extended duration ensures that all your questions are thoroughly addressed, your eye care requirements are fully attended to, and you understand every detail clearly. This time is dedicated solely to you—your exam, your health, your well-being.

We also include a retinal photo for all new adult patients free of charge.
